The timeshare and the credit used to fund it may create separate questions. A lender or broker complaint should be based on the agreement, the sales journey, affordability evidence and the legal relationship between the businesses involved.
What may need examining
- Who introduced or arranged the credit
- Whether the cost, term and consequences were explained
- What income and expenditure checks were carried out
- Whether the finance was presented as the only way to complete the purchase
- Statements made about investment, resale, refinancing or future value
Complaints and decisions
A complaint may go first to the lender or responsible business. Depending on the agreement and jurisdiction, an ombudsman, regulator or court route might later be considered. Applicable deadlines and eligibility must be checked for the particular case.
